Samsung has begun pushing the stable One UI 9 update to the Galaxy Z Fold7, starting in South Korea. The Galaxy Z Flip7 is getting the same stable build, and Samsung says the update will keep expanding to more Galaxy devices in phases, per its official rollout announcement. That makes the Fold7 the first previous-generation Fold confirmed to get stable One UI 9, following the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra and Fold8, which launched with it preinstalled.

The initial rollout is reportedly reaching Fold7 units enrolled in the One UI 9 beta program, with wider availability expected afterward. Samsung opened the beta for the Fold7 and Flip7 in September in select markets including India, Korea, the UK, and the US, with the first Fold7 beta landing in early September.

The Galaxy Z Fold6 and older Fold models shouldn’t be described as having received the stable update yet.
What’s new in One UI 9
Samsung’s headline addition is My FanCam, which lets you pick a person in a recorded video and automatically reframes the footage to keep them centered as they move. It requires a Samsung Account, and results can vary depending on the video.
Now Brief also gets Generative and Editable Cards, so you can customize the daily summary with categories like Health, Weather, and Video. Alongside it comes Now Nudge, which offers context-aware suggestions based on what you’re doing. If you’re making plans over messages, for example, it can surface reservation details or let you save a shared location without leaving the conversation. It builds on the idea behind the Now Bar introduced with One UI 7.
Other changes include:
- Creative Studio with AI-assisted creative suggestions
- Interpreter Thread View for easier tracking of translated conversations
- Better Document Scan handling of curved or folded documents
- Scam Detection expanding to more countries and languages
- Warranty and Care tools inside Settings, covering warranty info, diagnostics, repair estimates, Samsung Care+, and service appointments, depending on region
Privacy Alerts is also part of the update and is supported on the Fold7 and Fold6, among other devices. Availability of these features varies by country, region, language, device, and app.
When will it reach your Fold7?
Samsung hasn’t announced a single global release date for the Fold7, so timing depends on country, carrier, and model. Carrier-branded units may see a further delay. To check manually, head to Settings → Software update → Download and install.
