Samsung Confirms Stable One UI 9 Is “Coming Soon” for the Galaxy S26 Series

Samsung has confirmed that the stable One UI 9 update for the Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra is coming soon, though the company still hasn’t given an exact release date. The confirmation came through a Samsung Community forum post on September 1, the same day Samsung released the eighth beta build for the series, an unusually long testing cycle for a flagship Android update.

Several signs point to the release being close. Beyond the “coming soon” language itself, stable-labelled firmware builds including versions referred to as BZHK, BZHO, and more recently BZI2 have reportedly already turned up on Samsung’s servers, typically a sign that a company is finalizing software rather than continuing regular beta development. Samsung also started expanding the One UI 9 beta to the Galaxy S25 series and the Z Fold7/Z Flip7 on the same day, suggesting the S26 build is mature enough that engineering attention has moved elsewhere. Some reports point to a mid-September timeline, but that’s an estimate based on Samsung’s usual patterns rather than anything the company has stated directly.

One UI 9 is Samsung’s Android 17-based update, and the feature set is fairly extensive by this point.

A lot of that AI-driven personalization builds on ground Samsung’s Galaxy AI has already covered in past releases; features like Circle to Search and real-time call translation on the S24 series were an early version of the same idea, just less proactive than what Now Brief and Now Nudge are aiming for now.

The Galaxy S26 FE adds an interesting wrinkle to the story, since it reportedly launched with One UI 9/Android 17 already installed, meaning it never had to wait through the beta cycle the rest of the S26 lineup did. That’s a decent signal the software itself is finished, even if getting it out to every S26 owner is a separate logistical process.

Once the rollout starts, it won’t necessarily hit every device at once. Samsung typically staggers updates by country, carrier, and CSC, so unlocked and carrier models or the same phone in different regions can end up receiving it days or weeks apart.
