iPhone 18 Pro Rumored to Get Reverse Wireless Charging

Apple’s on-again, off-again flirtation with reverse wireless charging is reportedly back, this time pointed at the iPhone 18 Pro. The claim comes from Weibo leaker Instant Digital, and as with every prior round of this rumor, Apple hasn’t confirmed a thing.

According to the leak, Apple is testing the feature specifically for Pro-tier accessories like AirPods and Apple Watch rather than for charging another iPhone. It’s essentially a continuation of similar testing reportedly done on earlier Pro models that never made it to release.

This particular leak doesn’t mention a charging wattage. For context, earlier iPhone 17 Pro rumors pointed to roughly 7.5W reverse charging, but there’s no confirmation the 18 Pro would land at the same number.

Apple has reportedly tested reverse wireless charging for years without shipping it. This new leak at least suggests the idea hasn’t been shelved entirely. Apple appears to still be evaluating it for future Pro models.

This sits alongside other iPhone 18 Pro rumors floating around, including a smaller Dynamic Island, camera upgrades, a bigger battery on the Pro Max, and the next-gen A20 Pro chip.

Not necessarily. Testing a feature internally is a long way from shipping it, and Apple has quietly killed similar experiments before.
