Samsung’s July 22 Galaxy Unpacked event in London is less than two weeks away and accessory maker Thinborne just accidentally confirmed all three phones coming to the stage. Case listings for the Galaxy Z Fold8, Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, and Galaxy Z Flip8 appeared prematurely, corroborating leaked renders that have been circulating for weeks. Samsung’s own invitation sealed it with the tagline “A New Shape Unfolds.”
The standard Galaxy Z Fold8 is getting the most dramatic redesign. A shorter, significantly wider body makes the cover display genuinely usable as a normal smartphone addressing the single biggest complaint about every previous Fold. Expected specs include a 7.6-inch inner Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, 5.4-inch cover display, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, up to 16GB RAM and 1TB storage. Cameras land at 50MP main and ultrawide with dual selfie cameras with no dedicated telephoto, which is where the Ultra separates itself.
The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra targets premium buyers with a remarkably slim 4.1mm unfolded profile, a 5,000mAh battery with 45W charging, upgraded camera hardware, thinner bezels, and a brighter display. Rumored starting price in Europe is €2,199, while the standard Fold8 sits at €1,999. Colors spotted for the Ultra include Cream, Graphite, Green Shadow, and Violet Shadow.
The Galaxy Z Flip8 keeps the familiar clamshell formula with incremental refinements, larger external display, updated hinge, improved durability, and deeper Galaxy AI integration.
Pre-orders are expected immediately after the July 22 event, with retail availability targeting early August.
