T-Mobile Ends Free Apple TV “On Us,” $3/Month Starts Jan 2026

T-Mobile is ending its long-running Apple TV On Us free subscription benefit for many customers as of January 1, 2026, transitioning the perk into a discounted paid add-on instead of a fully subsidised benefit. This marks a notable shift in the carrier’s entertainment bundling strategy after offering the streaming perk for several years.

Launched in 2022, Apple TV+ (now branded simply Apple TV) was included at no extra cost with qualifying premium plans such as Experience More, Experience Beyond, Go5G Plus, Go5G Next, Magenta MAX, Magenta Plus and ONE Plus making it a key retention and value-add benefit.

Starting January 1, 2026, the “free” Apple TV perk will no longer be completely covered by T-Mobile. Instead, the carrier will apply a $9.99 monthly credit toward Apple TV+ and pass the remaining $3 monthly charge to subscribers who choose to keep the streaming service, reflecting recent price increases from Apple (Apple TV+ rose to a $12.99/month retail price).

Under the new arrangement:

  • T-Mobile will still offer Apple TV at a discounted rate for eligible premium plans, but users will see a $3/month line-item charge on bills beginning in 2026.
  • Customers who prefer not to pay can cancel the add-on through the T-Mobile app or the T-Life app before the rollout date to avoid charges.
  • Subscribers not previously enrolled in the “On Us” benefit and billing Apple TV through T-Mobile will simply transition to the full $12.99 retail rate once the Apple price increase takes full effect.

T-Mobile communicated the change to affected users via texts and support updates in late 2025, giving subscribers a window to decide whether to keep or cancel the perk. The company allows customers six-month trials or continued access through existing billing ties until the new pricing begins.
