Xiaomi’s next flagship lineup, the Xiaomi 18 series, is still months away from launch, but early leaks are already pointing to major camera upgrades. A new report from tipster Digital Chat Station suggests that an upcoming compact flagship with a 6.3-inch display is being tested with two 200MP rear cameras, and many believe this device could be the Xiaomi 18 Pro.
If the information turns out to be accurate, the Xiaomi 18 Pro may feature a 200MP primary sensor paired with a 200MP periscope telephoto unit, potentially delivering significant improvements in long-range zoom photography and high-resolution image capture. Such a setup would also place Xiaomi among the first brands to push dual-200MP camera systems in flagship smartphones.
The company previously offered stronger camera hardware on its Pro variants, and the same approach is expected this year. While the Xiaomi 18 Pro and possibly the Pro Max could receive the dual-200MP treatment, the standard Xiaomi 18 is rumored to include a periscope telephoto lens but not the dual-sensor configuration. More concrete details are expected to surface as the launch window approaches later this year.
