Sign Up for Apple Card Next Week and Basically Get AirPods Pro 3 for Free

Apple rarely gives anything away. So when Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports that Apple is preparing its biggest Apple Card sign-up promotion ever, one that effectively hands new users a free pair of AirPods Pro 3, it’s worth paying attention.

Here’s how it works. Sign up for a new Apple Card, buy AirPods Pro 3 at their standard $249 US price, and Apple gives you $249 back in Daily Cash the same day the purchase is made. Technically it’s a cashback rebate rather than a free product, but the end result is identical. You pay $249, you get $249 back, you keep the AirPods.

The promotion is expected to kick off as early as the week of May 18 in physical Apple Stores across the United States. Online availability hasn’t been confirmed and international customers aren’t mentioned in any current reports. Only new Apple Card sign-ups appear to be eligible existing cardholders likely won’t qualify.

Apple Card itself carries no annual fee, integrates directly into the iPhone Wallet app, and earns Daily Cash on every purchase that can go straight into Apple Cash or a savings account. The Goldman Sachs partnership that backs the card is transitioning to Chase by 2028 which may partly explain why Apple is pushing unusually hard on new sign-ups right now.

Full terms, eligibility requirements, and the exact end date haven’t been released yet.

Head to an Apple Store from May 18. A $249 pair of AirPods Pro 3 for the price of a credit card application is a deal that’s genuinely hard to walk past.
