Samsung Teases Exynos 2600 chip for upcoming Galaxy S26 Series

Exynos 2600

Samsung has officially introduced the Exynos 2600, its most advanced mobile processor to date and the company’s first chipset built on a 2nm Gate-All-Around (GAA) manufacturing process. The new platform is expected to power the upcoming Galaxy S26 series, marking a major leap in Samsung’s in-house silicon strategy.

The shift to 2nm GAA is aimed at improving efficiency, reducing heat, and delivering stronger sustained performance, an area where Exynos chips previously struggled. Samsung also revealed a redesigned thermal system and upgraded AI engine, positioning the 2600 as a true rival to Qualcomm’s and MediaTek’s newest chipsets.

Key Specifications

  • Process: 2nm GAA (Samsung Foundry)
  • CPU: 10-core architecture
    • 1 × prime core @ up to ~3.55–3.8 GHz
    • 3 × performance cores @ ~2.96 GHz
    • 6 × efficiency cores @ ~2.46 GHz
  • GPU: Xclipse 960 (AMD RDNA-based)
  • AI Processor: New-generation NPU for improved on-device AI
  • Thermals: “Heat Pass Block” cooling system up to 30% cooler operation vs Exynos 2500
  • Connectivity: 5G modem, Wi-Fi 7 support expected
  • Performance (Early Geekbench):
    • ~3,455 single-core
    • ~11,621 multi-core

What’s New?

Samsung claims Exynos 2600 offers a significant jump in both performance and efficiency, thanks to the new node and redesigned architecture. The AMD-powered Xclipse GPU aims to deliver smoother gaming and better ray-tracing performance, while the upgraded NPU targets faster on-device AI tasks including photo processing and intelligent system features.

The improved thermals could be the biggest upgrade, with Samsung confirming that the chip runs substantially cooler under high load.

Expected in the Galaxy S26 Series

Most reports suggest that Exynos 2600 will appear in multiple models of the Galaxy S26 lineup, and possibly even the Ultra variant depending on market strategy. If Samsung’s claims hold up in real-world devices, the Exynos 2600 could mark a major comeback for the company’s mobile chipset division.
