OnePlus Turbo 6X and Turbo 6x Pro Launches With Bigger Batteries

OnePlus just put every mid-range manufacturer on notice. The Turbo 6X Pro launched in China with a spec sheet that makes phones costing twice as much look conservative an 8,000mAh battery, Samsung AMOLED display, OIS camera, and full IP66/IP68/IP69/IP69K water resistance starting at only ¥1,699 (approximately $235). That combination at that price is genuinely hard to argue with.

The display is the first thing that earns its keep. A 6.78-inch Samsung AMOLED at 144Hz with 2772×1272 resolution, 3,600 nits peak brightness, and 3,000Hz touch sampling rate, the kind of panel specifications that flagship phones were shipping two years ago. Always-On Display support and an optical in-display fingerprint scanner complete a front that feels premium well above the price point.

Performance comes from the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Super with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. The battery is the headline though with 8,000mAh with 80W SuperVOOC charging, 80W UFCS, 55W PPS, and bypass charging for gaming sessions that keeps heat down while plugged in. Seven military-grade durability certifications alongside those four IP ratings make this one of the toughest phones available under ¥2,000.

The camera system keeps things practical with a 50MP OV50D40 main sensor with OIS and an 8MP ultrawide on the rear, 16MP selfie up front. Nothing that will challenge a flagship camera phone, but honest and capable for the money. NFC, infrared blaster, dual stereo speakers, Bluetooth 5.4, and a flagship-grade gyroscope round out a connectivity package that leaves almost nothing obvious missing.

The standard Turbo 6X sits below it at ¥1,499 switching to a 6.72-inch LCD, 7,000mAh battery, 45W charging, and Dimensity 7360 Super. No ultrawide camera, no in-display fingerprint, basic IP54 water resistance. It’s the choice for buyers who want maximum battery at absolute minimum price and don’t need the premium panel or enhanced water protection.

Available in Heart’s Desire Orange and Racing Black on the Pro, Green, White, and Black on the standard model. Both are available for reservation in China now with government subsidy pricing available in select regions.

At ¥1,699 for an 8,000mAh battery, Samsung AMOLED, and IP69K protection the Turbo 6X Pro is one of the most aggressive value propositions in budget smartphones right now.
