Motorola Signature Premium Phone Set for January 7, 2026 Launch

Motorola Signature

Motorola is preparing to enter the premium smartphone segment with its new Motorola Signature series, a high-end handset that’s officially confirmed to launch in India on January 7, 2026, with global rollout expected soon after as part of broader early-2026 flagship plans. The device is the first in a new lineup aimed at reinvigorating Motorola’s presence at the top tier of the market.

Motorola has teased the Signature’s design and positioning, showcasing a fabric-finished rear panel paired with a flat display and slim bezels, along with a centred hole-punch front camera. A promotional Flipkart microsite has gone live, signalling retail availability after the official reveal.

Early benchmark leaks (Geekbench) confirm that the Signature will run Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, the same flagship-class chip used by other premium Android phones paired with 16 GB of RAM and Android 16 out of the box. The device posted strong single- and multi-core results in testing, underlining its performance credentials.

Rumoured specifications and features include a 6.7-inch flat OLED display with 1.5K resolution and a likely 120 Hz refresh rate, aligning with premium screen standards. Motorola is expected to equip the Signature with a versatile triple-camera setup, potentially including 50 MP main, ultra-wide and periscope telephoto sensors, indicating a strong focus on photography. Colour options seen in leaks include Carbon and Martini Olive.

Design teasers have also highlighted an extra side-mounted button, which could serve as a camera shutter key or customisable shortcut, a trend increasingly seen in premium phones for quick access to specific functions. The fabric finish on the back adds a distinct premium feel, differentiating the Signature from plastic or glass-backed rivals.

There’s speculation that the Motorola Signature may effectively replace or succeed the Edge 70 Ultra as the brand’s flagship slab-style device, based on similarities in leaked renders and hardware positioning. This would mark Motorola’s first major flagship push since its higher-end Edge series models in 2024.
