A fresh leaked video of the highly anticipated iPhone Fold has surfaced online, offering an early and unusually clear look at Apple’s first foldable handset and putting the spotlight on one of its most talked-about features: a “crease-free” internal display.
According to the video and recent insider reports, the iPhone Fold adopts a book-style foldable form factor, opening into a wider, more tablet-like screen with minimal visual interruption where the screen bends. Unlike many existing foldables that show a noticeable crease at the hinge, Apple is reportedly using advanced materials, an innovative hinge architecture and ultra-thin flexible glass (UFG) to dramatically reduce or even eliminate visible folding lines, a potential differentiator if it reaches production as shown.
Design cues in the footage believed to be based on internal prototypes and CAD-based renders show a large internal display suited for multitasking and media consumption, with a hole-punch camera on both the inner and outer screens. The outer display is expected to be comfortably usable on its own when the device is folded, making it practical for quick interactions without unfolding the phone.
On the hardware front, leaks indicate the iPhone Fold won’t lean on Face ID like most current iPhones; instead, it’s tipped to use a side-mounted Touch ID sensor, a choice likely driven by the design constraints of a foldable form. The rear camera array appears more conservative compared with Apple’s flat iPhone Pro models, potentially borrowing dual cameras from recent non-Pro iPhones, and internal sources also point to a next-generation Apple silicon chip and a split-cell battery to balance performance with longer run times.
Despite the excitement around the crease-free panel in the leaked video, industry whispers caution that Apple is still iterating on the flexible screen materials and hinge mechanism, and achieving a truly crease-free fold at scale may be challenging. These technical refinements could influence the final launch timing and early production yields as Apple works to ensure reliability and durability.
