iPhone Air 2 Rumored To Get A Bigger Battery

The original iPhone Air had one obvious weakness: battery life. Apple appears to know it. According to Weibo leaker Digital Chat Station, the iPhone Air 2 is expected to carry a battery exceeding 3,500mAh, up from the current model’s 3,149mAh, an increase of roughly 11% that should translate to meaningfully better endurance when combined with more efficient hardware.

The second major upgrade addresses the Air’s other criticism: a single rear camera. The iPhone Air 2 is rumored to add a second 48MP ultrawide lens alongside the 48MP main sensor, finally bringing the ultra-thin lineup into line with what buyers expect from a premium phone in 2027.

Performance comes from the A20 Pro chip on TSMC’s 2nm process, better power efficiency, faster CPU and GPU, and improved on-device AI. That efficiency gain, alongside the larger battery, is how Apple plans to improve endurance without dramatically increasing the phone’s thickness. The titanium frame and ultra-slim profile are expected to stay.

Display rumors point to a 6.55-inch LTPO OLED gaining 120Hz ProMotion and Always-On Display, both absent from the current Air. A new Lavender light purple colorway is also rumored, replacing the previous Sky Blue option.

The iPhone Air 2 is expected to launch in Spring 2027 alongside the standard iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e part of Apple’s reported split-release strategy separating the Pro lineup from the more affordable models.
