The iPhone 18 Pro Max might finally deliver the battery life Apple users have been asking for. Leaker Instant Digital on Weibo has shared what could be the exact battery capacities for Apple’s upcoming Pro lineup and the numbers represent meaningful jumps over the current generation.

The iPhone 18 Pro Max is reportedly getting a 5,235mAh battery in global markets with physical SIM trays up from the iPhone 17 Pro Max’s 4,823mAh, an increase of around 412mAh or 8.5%. The US eSIM-only model reportedly goes even further at 5,425mAh, taking advantage of the internal space freed by removing the physical SIM slot, a design decision Apple has carried forward since the iPhone 14 US model. The smaller iPhone 18 Pro is said to receive a more modest upgrade to 4,127mAh.

If accurate, the US Pro Max would carry the largest battery ever fitted to an iPhone full stop.

The battery upgrade doesn’t exist in isolation. The iPhone 18 Pro Max is also rumored to launch with Apple’s A20 Pro chip on TSMC’s 2nm process, a next-generation C2 modem, more efficient OLED display technology, 12GB RAM, a smaller Dynamic Island, and a variable-aperture main camera. That combination of a bigger battery and a more efficient chip could translate to noticeably better real-world endurance than the 17 Pro Max delivers.

Apple hasn’t confirmed any of this battery specs are among the last details Apple officially reveals before launch.
