New CAD renders suggest the Galaxy S27 Pro is shaping up to be the boldest design change in Samsung’s rumored four-phone S27 lineup, and it’s not going to the Ultra alone. The renders reportedly show the Pro adopting the same wide, horizontal camera plateau expected on the Ultra, ditching Samsung’s familiar vertical camera arrangement entirely for something that looks a lot closer to Apple’s recent Pro iPhones.
The comparison isn’t subtle. The camera housing stretches across a wide section of the phone’s upper back, positioned and shaped in a way that invites the iPhone 17 Pro comparisons already circulating. What’s notable is that the Pro doesn’t seem to be getting its own distinct look, it’s essentially borrowing the Ultra’s new design language wholesale, down to the rounder frame edges, minus one key thing: there’s no S Pen slot in these renders, while the Ultra is expected to keep S Pen support.
Dimensions put the Pro at roughly 154.06 x 73.77 x 7.95mm with a 6.6-inch display, noticeably smaller than the Ultra’s rumored 163.76 x 78.25 x 7.97mm frame despite nearly identical thickness. That positions the Pro as a shrunken Ultra rather than a scaled-up standard S27, following a strategy Samsung hasn’t really attempted before. The existence of this fourth model gained real credibility back in June when GSMA database filings turned up a device tagged SM-S957B/DS, matching the S27 Pro designation months before any renders surfaced.
Meanwhile, the standard S27 and S27+ are reportedly keeping their traditional vertical camera layout, meaning Samsung could be drawing its sharpest design line yet between the base models and the Pro/Ultra pair. If that split holds through to a launch expected sometime in early 2027, Samsung’s flagship strategy starts looking a lot like Apple’s Pro and Pro Max split, just with two extra tiers underneath it.
