Galaxy S27 Brings Minimal Design Changes in New Renders

Newly surfaced CAD renders suggest the standard Galaxy S27 is shaping up to be a near-clone of the Galaxy S26, at least on the outside. The measurements come from design files reportedly circulating among case and accessory makers, which puts them a notch above pure speculation but still short of anything Samsung has put its name to.

The numbers tell the story better than words can. The S27 reportedly measures 149.75 x 71.88 x 7.25mm against the S26’s 149.6 x 71.7 x 7.2mm, a gap so small under 0.2mm on every axis that you’d never feel it in hand. The flat display, flat frame, rounded corners, and 6.3-inch screen all appear to carry over unchanged, and the rear camera setup keeps the same three vertically stacked lenses inside an oval housing that’s defined Samsung’s base models for a couple of generations now.

That consistency stands out because the Galaxy S27 Ultra is rumored to be heading in the opposite direction, reportedly trading its familiar camera layout for a large rectangular island. If both leaks hold up, Samsung would be widening the design gap between its standard and Ultra phones more than it has in years, saving the visual overhaul for the model that costs the most.

Where things get more interesting is under the hood, though these details are still floating around as separate, less certain rumors. Battery capacity could jump from the S26’s 4,300mAh to roughly 4,900mAh, about a 14% increase, possibly paired with silicon-carbon cell tech. There’s also chatter about Samsung swapping in a Sony main camera sensor after years of ISOCELL dominance, alongside a possible bump to 12GB RAM and 256GB base storage. A fourth model, an S27 Pro without S Pen support, is also being floated, though that one feels the least solid of the bunch.

If the shell really does stay this close to the S26, don’t be surprised if Samsung leans hard on new color options to make the S27 feel like a fresh phone rather than a repaint. The upgrades this year sound like they’re happening where the eye can’t reach.
