Samsung pushed out new One UI 9 beta builds for two budget Galaxy phones this week Beta 2 for the Galaxy A16 5G in India, and Beta 3 for the Galaxy A55 in South Korea. The A55 being three built in while the A16 is only on its second is a decent sign the A55’s testing is further along toward a stable release.
| Device | Build | Size | Fixes |
| Galaxy A16 5G (Beta 2) | A166PXXU9ZZJ1 | 333.50MB | Fast Charging not working, Battery Protection failing when powered off, a Quick Settings icon appearing during timer photos, updated Photo Editor |
| Galaxy A55 (Beta 3) | A556SKSUBZZI9 | — | Wi-Fi stability improvement |
Both are small, bug-focused updates rather than anything feature-heavy. The A16’s first beta had arrived September 28 at a much larger 2.76GB, carrying the bulk of One UI 9’s actual changes, so Beta 2 is really just cleanup on top of that. The A55 followed a similar arc: its own Beta 2 (A556SKSUBEXI4, 403.66MB) fixed camera stability issues before this Wi-Fi-focused Beta 3.
Neither phone has a confirmed stable release date yet. Samsung hasn’t said how many more beta rounds either one will get, but shrinking changelogs like these are usually a sign the stable version isn’t too far off the same pattern that played out as other Galaxy A-series phones worked through their own One UI 9 beta cycles before going stable.
