Apple Raises iCloud+ Prices in Multiple Countries

Apple has quietly raised iCloud+ subscription prices across a range of international markets, and if you’re in one of the affected countries, the increase will show up at your next billing cycle without much warning. The price hike covers markets including Australia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Egypt, Indonesia, Japan, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, South Korea, Tanzania, Thailand, and Turkey. Users in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom are not affected by this round of increases.

The changes apply to iCloud+’s paid storage tiers 50GB, 200GB, 2TB, 6TB, and 12TB depending on availability in each market. The free 5GB tier stays exactly as it is, and none of iCloud+’s features are being removed or changed. This is purely a price adjustment on the subscription side.

Apple hasn’t offered a detailed explanation for the increases, which is standard practice for the company during regional pricing updates. The most common drivers behind these adjustments are exchange rate fluctuations, local inflation, and changes to tax or regulatory requirements in specific markets. Apple periodically revisits international pricing for its services to reflect local economic conditions, and this appears to be another iteration of that process.

For existing subscribers, the new price kicks in at the next renewal date after Apple applies the update in your region. If the increase doesn’t work for your budget, you have the option to downgrade to a lower storage tier or cancel before renewal to avoid being charged the higher rate. Check your current plan in Settings under your Apple ID to see when your next renewal falls.

iCloud+ has become deeply embedded in the Apple ecosystem for most users backups, photo libraries, Messages, and cross-device sync all depend on it. That makes this less of a choice and more of a necessity for many people, which is exactly why these increases tend to land quietly.
