Samsung’s next big software update may be more than a routine refresh. On October 17, leaker Ice Universe posted on X that “my independent source has confirmed: One UI 10 will bring about significant changes, unprecedented in nature.” He didn’t say what the changes are, shared no screenshots, and Samsung hasn’t confirmed anything.
| Detail | Status |
| Nature of the changes | Not revealed |
| Android base | Android 18, expected but unconfirmed |
| First device | Disputed: Galaxy Z Fold 9 or Galaxy S28 series |
| Expected timing | 2027, no official date |
| Beta schedule | None announced |
Timing is where reports disagree. SamMobile’s roundup speculates that a stable release could debut with the Galaxy Z Fold 9 and Z Flip 9 in mid-2027, while other reports point to the Galaxy S28 series in early 2027. Neither has been confirmed.
One UI 10 is also expected to follow a smaller step first. Samsung is already testing One UI 9.5, which has shown up on the Galaxy S26 series and on all four Galaxy S27 models, and an earlier report said it could finally bring app lock. Sammy Fans expects a One UI 9.5 beta in December, though that isn’t confirmed either.
A separate and weaker rumor suggests Samsung may be working on something called “Galaxy OS,” with deeper AI integration and closer work with Google. Android Authority traced it to an X user called Phonefuturist, who later said it would still be One UI. Nothing links it to Ice Universe’s claim, so a full redesign or a rename remains speculation until Samsung says more.
