Samsung has started internal software development for the Galaxy A58, the expected successor to the Galaxy A57. According to a thread on the Samsung Members community, the first firmware build for model number SM-A586B carries the version A586BXXU0AZI5 and is based on One UI 9, Samsung’s Android 17-based interface.
The build follows the phone’s appearance in the GSMA IMEI database back in August, where it was listed as SM-A5860, the Chinese market variant, under the marketing name Galaxy A58 5G. The new firmware uses a different regional model number, which fits Samsung’s usual practice of assigning one code per market.
The listing says nothing about hardware, so the chipset, display, battery, cameras, RAM and storage are all still unknown. The One UI 9 base also doesn’t lock in the software the phone will launch with, since a development build can change several times before release, and the A58 could still arrive with One UI 9.5 instead.
Samsung launched the Galaxy A57 in March 2026 and refreshes its A5x line every year, which points to a Galaxy A58 launch around March 2027. That timing is an estimate based on the previous schedule, not an announced date.
