Samsung has revised prices across four of its Galaxy A and F-series phones in India, with the Galaxy A17 taking by far the steepest hike. The new prices reportedly took effect on September 2, 2026.
The A17 stands out because of how differently its travel-adapter and non-adapter versions have moved. Versions bundled with a travel adapter jumped the hardest the 8GB+256GB variant went from ₹23,999 to ₹38,499, a ₹14,500 increase, while the 6GB+128GB and 8GB+128GB adapter versions rose by ₹10,500 and ₹12,000 respectively. The non-adapter versions saw a flatter, smaller increase of ₹3,500 across the board, which puts the A17’s starting price at ₹27,999 without the adapter or ₹29,999 with it.
The Galaxy A27 5G also went up, with increases ranging from ₹2,000 on the 6GB+128GB model to ₹5,000 on the 8GB+256GB version. The Galaxy F17 saw a uniform ₹3,500 bump across all three configurations, pushing its entry-level model past ₹20,000 for the first time. The Galaxy A07 5G got the smallest adjustments, up ₹1,000 and ₹2,000 depending on the variant.
Samsung hasn’t publicly explained this particular round of increases, but the pattern lines up with what’s been driving earlier hikes throughout the year rising memory chip costs. This isn’t Samsung’s first price adjustment in India in 2026 either; the company has raised prices on Galaxy A and F-series phones multiple times already, including an August round that was reportedly the ninth Galaxy price hike in the country in eight months. Counterpoint has also reported that India’s overall smartphone market shrank 11% year-over-year in Q2 2026, with memory costs cited as a major factor squeezing margins industry-wide, and other manufacturers besides Samsung raising prices around the same period.
It’s worth being clear that this increase is specific to India; there’s no indication the same price changes are happening globally, since the reports and rupee pricing are all tied to the Indian market.
The pattern also shows up clearly if you look at how far Samsung’s budget lineup has come on the performance side devices like the Galaxy A36 have pushed benchmark numbers higher even as pricing keeps climbing, which makes the value proposition at the entry level a moving target this year.
Samsung’s own official India product page for the A17 5G now reflects the increase directly — it currently lists the phone starting at ₹26,999 after a ₹1,000 first-purchase discount, working out to the same ₹27,999 base price the price sheets point to, right in line with the reported timing around India’s festive shopping season.
