Eligible iPhone owners in the US could soon see a payout from Apple’s $250 million Siri settlement, with claims expected to open around September 21. The lawsuit stemmed from Apple previewing a more personalized Siri at WWDC in June 2024, then promoting those capabilities alongside the iPhone 16 launch, only to delay the features in March 2025. Apple didn’t admit wrongdoing, saying it settled to stay focused on its products.
Not every iPhone owner qualifies here. You need to have bought an eligible model, iPhone 15 Pro, 15 Pro Max, 16, 16e, 16 Plus, 16 Pro, or 16 Pro Max, between June 10, 2024 and March 29, 2025, and you need to be a US resident. The payout itself starts at $25 per eligible device, though that figure could climb as high as $95 if fewer people file claims than Apple’s lawyers anticipated. That $95 ceiling is a maximum, not a promise, so don’t bank on the bigger number.
Timing matters more than the dollar amount right now. Under the proposed schedule, notices and the claims window would open September 21, 2026, running through a December 21 deadline, giving eligible owners roughly 90 days to apply. But actual payments won’t arrive until after a final approval hearing scheduled for February 24, 2027, so anyone expecting a check this year will be waiting longer than that.
The claims website isn’t live yet, and nothing about the process requires action today. If you bought a qualifying iPhone in that window, the smartest move right now is simply to wait for the official settlement site rather than responding to anything claiming to collect your information early.
