Google Pixel 11 Launch Event Set for August 12

Google just sent out the invites, and the date is locked in. The Made by Google 2026 event is set for August 12 in New York City, starting at 6:00 PM ET, a later evening slot than Google usually picks, which suggests the company is going for more of a showcase moment than a standard product briefing. The invitation teases the “next generation of Pixel” without naming anything directly, but the implication is clear.

The Pixel 11 lineup is the main event. Leaks point to four models arriving: Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL, and Pixel 11 Pro Fold. The Pixel Watch 5 is also widely expected to make an appearance, following Google’s consistent pattern of announcing new watches alongside its annual phone lineup. None of these have been officially named by Google yet.

The invitation itself dropped an interesting hint: an animation featuring what looks like a gold-colored Pixel phone, believed to be the Pixel 11 Pro or Pro XL. A new premium color option at launch isn’t unusual for Google, but gold is a departure from the finishes the Pro lineup has been known for.

On the hardware side, leaks point to the Tensor G6 processor inside, with improved on-device AI performance, better computational photography, and stronger battery efficiency. Design changes are expected to be evolutionary rather than dramatic slimmer bezels on the standard model, a redesigned solid black camera bar, and slightly thinner profiles on the Pro and Pro Fold.

One rumor worth watching is the possible removal of the 128GB base storage option, with 256GB potentially becoming the new entry point. European pricing may also rise by around €100 across the lineup due to component costs. Google hasn’t confirmed either.
