Verizon “New Era” Pricing Leak: Lifetime Price Lock Tier Expected at CES

Internal leaks suggest Verizon is planning a major pricing initiative reportedly called a “Lifetime Price Lock” tier which could be announced at CES 2026 to compete with aggressive pricing moves from rivals like T-Mobile.

According to industry insiders and internal documents circulating ahead of the big consumer tech trade show in January, Verizon’s upcoming pricing refresh under the “New Era” initiative may add a new tier that guarantees fixed monthly pricing for the lifetime of a customer’s plan, provided they keep the same service and plan features. This would mark a notable shift from the industry’s more common multi-year price locks, such as Verizon’s existing three-year price lock guarantee that was introduced earlier in 2025 across its mobile and home plans.

Verizon’s three-year price lock ensures that eligible customers won’t see base service price increases for three years. It also includes perks like free phones with trade-ins and other bundled benefits aimed at improving customer retention. If the new “Lifetime Price Lock” tier is confirmed, it would go further by promising ongoing price stability throughout a customer’s time on the plan, as long as the core plan remains unchanged.

The reported move is widely seen as a response to recent pricing strategies from T-Mobile, which has rolled out long-term price guarantees including a five-year price guarantee on some plans to attract and retain subscribers. Verizon’s rumored offer could be designed to differentiate its pricing in a crowded market where consumers are increasingly concerned about unexpected rate hikes and rising monthly costs.

While Verizon has not officially confirmed the “Lifetime Price Lock,” the leak suggests an impending announcement at CES 2026, where carriers often reveal new plans and promotions ahead of the typical New Year sales cycle. Whether the tier will include conditions such as auto-pay requirements, device trade-ins, or other restrictions remains unverified and will likely be clarified when Verizon makes the pricing official.
