Xiaomi’s latest flagship Xiaomi 17 Ultra which debuted in China on December 25, 2025 is now making early moves toward an India launch, as the broader Xiaomi 17 series has appeared on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification website, a strong signal that an official India debut is imminent.
The BIS listing typically precedes a market launch in India, indicating that Xiaomi has begun regulatory preparation for selling the phone locally. While the listing currently refers to the standard Xiaomi 17 model, industry insiders and leakers say the more premium Xiaomi 17 Ultra is also being tested for India, and could follow the base model soon after its certification.
Although Xiaomi has not officially confirmed a launch date for India, multiple leaks and certification activity suggest the Xiaomi 17 and potentially the 17 Ultra could arrive locally by early 2026, with tipsters pointing to a March 2026 timeframe as likely for availability in India and other global markets.
With certification now underway and Xiaomi teasing 2026 flagships on its official social accounts, Indian buyers may not have to wait long to see the 17 Ultra’s premium performance and camera prowess arrive locally, extending the company’s global flagship momentum beyond its China premiere.
