WhatsApp Web to Add Audio and Video Calling Support Soon

WhatsApp is working on bringing voice and video calling directly to WhatsApp Web, allowing users to make calls straight from a browser without needing the separate desktop app. The feature has been spotted in beta testing and is expected to roll out gradually in the coming updates.

Once available, users will see phone and video camera icons inside chat windows, similar to the mobile interface. This will enable instant calling from laptops or desktop browsers, improving convenience for users who rely on WhatsApp Web for work or daily communication.

Previously, WhatsApp required users to install the native Windows or macOS desktop application to access calling features. With the upcoming update, the web version will gain nearly full communication capabilities, making it more competitive with services like Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams for quick calls.

The feature is currently under beta testing, meaning availability may initially be limited to select users before expanding globally. Once fully rolled out, WhatsApp Web will support both audio and video calls directly through the browser, eliminating the need for additional downloads.
