WhatsApp is finally working on one of its most requested features: scheduled messages bringing the popular chat platform closer to rivals that already support message automation.
According to recent reports, the feature has been spotted in the latest iOS beta build (version 26.7.10.72) distributed through TestFlight. It will allow users to compose a message and choose a specific date and time for it to be sent automatically, removing the need to manually hit send later.

The functionality is expected to be useful for birthday wishes, reminders, work updates, and other time-sensitive conversations. Once scheduled, the message will be delivered automatically at the selected time, improving communication planning inside the app.
Notably, the standard WhatsApp app has historically lacked a native scheduling option, forcing users to rely on third-party tools or automation workarounds. The built-in solution would therefore mark a significant quality-of-life upgrade if it reaches stable release.
At the moment, the feature appears to be under development and limited to beta testing, meaning it is not yet available to the general public. There is also no confirmed timeline for a wider rollout, and it remains unclear whether Android will receive the feature at the same time as iOS.
