The $2,400 Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold Sells Out in Minutes During Official Korea Launch

Galaxy Z TriFold

Samsung’s brand-new Galaxy Z TriFold has made a spectacular debut in South Korea, selling out within minutes despite its steep $2,400 price tag. The tri-folding flagship went on sale on December 12, and early stock vanished almost instantly across Samsung’s online store and select retail locations.

The Galaxy Z TriFold is Samsung’s first mass-market device with a dual-hinge, triple-section foldable display, offering a 6.5-inch cover screen and a tablet-like 10-inch unfolded panel. Powering the device is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite, paired with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage.

The camera setup includes a 200MP main sensor, supported by ultrawide and telephoto lenses, while a 5,600mAh battery keeps the multi-fold system running. The phone ships with Android 16-based One UI 8 and carries IP48 protection.

Despite its premium KRW 3.59 million (~$2,430) price, demand exceeded expectations. Lines formed outside Samsung’s Gangnam flagship store, with some buyers reportedly waiting overnight to secure the first retail units.

Global availability is planned for early 2026 in regions including the U.S., China, and Southeast Asia. Based on Korean pricing, the international model could approach the $3,000 mark when it launches.
