Tecno has quietly launched its latest Camon 50 series in select markets, bringing solid mid-range specs, large batteries, and capable camera systems to the table ahead of an expected global debut later in 2026.
Design & Display

Both the Tecno Camon 50 and Camon 50 Pro feature a large 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 144 Hz refresh rate and FHD+ resolution. The non-Pro model uses a flat screen, while the Pro version upgrades to a curved panel for a more premium feel. Both screens include an under-display optical fingerprint sensor for secure unlocking.
Performance & Software
Under the hood, both phones are powered by the MediaTek Helio G200 Ultimate chipset paired with 8 GB RAM and 256 GB storage. They boot Android 16 with Tecno’s HiOS 16 skin and offer typical 4G connectivity.

Camera Capabilities
The camera setup is a highlight on both devices:
- Main camera: 50 MP sensor with Sony LYT700C and OIS (optical image stabilization).
- Ultra-wide: 8 MP ultra-wide lens.
- Selfie: 32 MP front camera.

The Camon 50 Pro distinguishes itself with an additional 50 MP telephoto sensor that supports 3× optical zoom, making it more versatile for portrait and zoom shots, a rare feature in its price segment.
Battery & Charging
Both models pack a 6,150 mAh battery and support 45W wired fast charging, promising long endurance and reasonably quick top-ups for daily use.

Build & Extras
Tecno offers a variety of colour options including Moonlight Black, Malachite Green, Nebula Titanium, Fir Green, Lavender Mist, and Mint Cream. The Camon 50 Pro adds an exclusive Ethereal Blue option. Some listings also highlight robust dust and water resistance ratings.
Pricing & Availability
- Tecno Camon 50: ~ $290 (KES 37,500)
- Tecno Camon 50 Pro: ~ $341 (KES 44,000)
Both devices are already on sale in parts of Africa, with broader availability expected soon, including in Asian markets.
Verdict
The Camon 50 series builds on Tecno’s mid-range strengths with a sharp 144 Hz AMOLED display, large battery, and solid camera hardware. The Pro model’s curved screen and 3× optical zoom lens give it an edge for users who want a more capable camera experience without jumping into premium-priced phones.
