September 15, 2025, Samsung has officially started the stable rollout of One UI 8, its latest software based on Android 16. The update first arrives on the Galaxy S25 series and will expand to more Galaxy flagships, foldables, tablets, and mid-range devices over the coming months.

The new update introduces major refinements to Samsung’s interface. Galaxy AI takes center stage, with smarter multimodal input that combines visual, text, and voice recognition for real-time assistance and translation.

A fresh design language makes the UI more fluid with smoother animations and adaptive widgets, while new personalization tools allow users to set adaptive clocks and dynamic wallpapers that react to surroundings, pets, and people.

Samsung has also enhanced system security with Knox Matrix and KEEP (Knox Enhanced Encrypted Protection), offering stronger data protection across connected devices. Apps like Calendar, Clock, Reminders, and Quick Share have been improved with cleaner layouts and faster performance.

Another highlight is the Now Bar and Now Brief, offering glanceable updates and recommendations directly on the home screen. The update also brings automatic call captioning, making calls more accessible in noisy environments or for users with hearing needs.

The update weighs nearly 3.8GB on some models, so Samsung advises users to back up their devices, connect to Wi-Fi, and ensure sufficient storage before upgrading.

Initially rolling out in South Korea, the One UI 8 stable update will soon expand to other regions worldwide, starting with Galaxy S24, Z Fold6, Z Flip6, and later the Galaxy A and Tab S series.

With its mix of AI features, design polish, and security upgrades, One UI 8 marks Samsung’s biggest step forward in creating a more intelligent and personalized Android experience.
