Samsung has begun rolling out its One UI 8 Watch update more broadly, now expanding the Android-based Wear OS 6 upgrade to the Galaxy Watch4 series in multiple regions worldwide. This marks a significant step in bringing the latest wearable software experience to older Galaxy Watch models beyond just the newest hardware.
The One UI 8 Watch update Samsung’s latest wearable software built atop Wear OS 6 was previously delivered to newer models such as the Galaxy Watch7, Watch6, Watch5 and the Galaxy Watch Ultra earlier in the year, introducing a redesigned interface, improved health tools and more intuitive navigation.
The Galaxy Watch4 and Watch4 Classic have now started receiving the update globally, with confirmed rollouts in India, the U.S. and other markets. The current releases apply to non-cellular (Wi-Fi + Bluetooth) variants of the watches, and users can check for the new firmware via the Galaxy Wearable app → Settings → Watch software update → Download and install. The update includes the October 2025 security patch and a substantial package download.
Key features introduced by One UI 8 Watch across eligible devices include:
- A refreshed UI design with smoother animations and updated app icons.
- The Now Bar, which makes ongoing activities such as timers, music playback and workouts easily accessible.
- Bedtime Guidance and mindfulness tools to help users with sleep and wellness habits.
- New health insights and expanded fitness tracking experiences compared with earlier Wear OS builds.
For the Galaxy Watch4 family, this update represents the final major software upgrade, fulfilling Samsung’s promise of continued support through four major OS versions on what has been one of the company’s longest-serviced wearable generations.
While the rollout is already underway in key regions, some cellular variants and markets may see the update arrive in the coming weeks. Once fully deployed, owners of the Watch4 series will have access to many of the same One UI 8 Watch enhancements that newer Galaxy Wearables have enjoyed since mid-2025.
