So i’ve been seeing a lot of leaks flying around about this samsung galaxy s26 ultra. I figured I’d write down what’s going on (or what might be). not official of course, but you know how it is. People leak stuff months ahead now and some of it actually turns out true lol.
Display first (because yeah, that’s the thing everyone notices)
So the screen? apparently 6.9 inches (or 6.89 something), amoled, lpto whatever basically super smooth refresh, like 120hz. The bezels are supposedly going crazy thin. one guy said 1mm?? that’s almost nothing, might as well be all screen.
heard they’re using that new CoE OLED tech too. it’s supposed to be brighter and less battery-hungry. makes sense.
Chip + Ram = Beast mode?
two versions again snapdragon 8 gen 2 elite (3nm chip), or exynos 2600. Some people are mad about exynos but it might be okay this year. Samsung has been improving.
16gb ram, up to 1tb storage yeah okay, overkill for normal people but good for camera folks or if u record a lot.
Camera Setup (lots of megapixels again)
still rocking that 200mp main sensor apparently. This time might have variable aperture though, like it changes between f/1.4 to f/4.0 depending on lighting.
also:
- 50mp ultra wide
- 50mp telephoto
- 50mp periscope 5x zoom (maybe no 10x this year?)
not a huge change tbh, but they might just be tuning software more instead of adding gimmicks.
Battery Stuff
battery not changing much, still 5000mah. but fast charging might finally go up to 60w or even 65w which would be cool. That’d cut charge time in half maybe?
some rumors say a silicon-carbon battery upgrade (5500mah?) but idk. sounds like something that might stay in korea or come in the s27 instead.
Design / Build
looks the same as s24 ultra mostly. maybe thinner. maybe lighter. camera rings might be spaced differently. probably still the s-pen included but there’s this one rumor that they might move it to a clip-on instead of inside. not sure how i feel about that.
colors? black, titanium, maybe green, who knows.
Ai + Software
one ui 8.5 on android 16. The big things this year might be AI stuff summaries, call translation, smart reply, photo editing with generative tools, all that.
They’re trying to match Apple and Google.
update support still good: 4 years android + 5 years security.
Random thoughts:
- if the exynos version still underperforms, people gonna riot
- pricing is probably still around $1400-ish. hope they don’t bump it higher
- under-display camera again? ehhhh. not convinced it’s good yet
So yeah, Samsung galaxy s26 ultra specs are looking solid on paper anyway. might not be revolutionary, but feels like one of those years where everything gets tuned up just right.
but again, all rumors. take this whole post with a big ol’ grain of salt.
FAQs
Is the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra confirmed yet?
Not officially. Everything floating around right now is based on leaks, CAD renders, and insider tips. Samsung hasn’t made any announcements, but we’re expecting something early next year.
What chip will the S26 Ultra use?
Rumors suggest two versions, again Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Elite Edition (3nm) for some regions, and Exynos 2600 for others. Samsung might finally close the gap between the two, but people are still skeptical about Exynos.
Will it really have 16GB RAM and 1TB storage?
That’s what some leakers are claiming. 16GB seems likely for the Ultra line, and 1TB could be an option for high-end buyers or creators who record a lot of video.
What kind of camera upgrades are expected?
The main 200MP sensor might stay, but with a new variable aperture system. Also hearing about triple 50MP sensors for ultra-wide, telephoto, and periscope zoom. Not a huge overhaul, but some tuning and smarter software is likely.
Any changes to charging speed?
Looks like Samsung might finally bump wired charging up to 60W or 65W, which would be great. Wireless charging likely stays around 15–25W.
What’s up with the design?
Not much of a redesign. Maybe thinner bezels, a slightly lighter body, and some small layout changes around the camera rings. The S Pen is still included unless they surprise us with something new.
Will there be new AI features?
Yeah, that seems to be a major focus. Rumors talk about things like live call translations, smart summaries, photo editing with generative AI tools, and maybe even on-device processing for privacy.
