Samsung Galaxy S26 Base Model Tipped To Get 45W Charging

Samsung Galaxy S26 Base Model Tipped To Get 45W Charging

Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S26 series is shaping up to deliver a rare win for buyers of the standard model. According to a fresh leak from tipster Ahmed Qwaider, the base Galaxy S26 will finally support 45W fast charging, a notable jump from the 25W limit Samsung has stuck with for years on its non-Ultra phones. If accurate, this would bring the vanilla S26 in line with the Plus and Ultra variants, removing one of the most frustrating distinctions in Samsung’s flagship lineup.

Charging speed has long been a weak point for Samsung’s base flagships, especially as rivals moved to much faster solutions. With 45W support, the Galaxy S26 could offer significantly quicker top-ups, making it more competitive without forcing users to step up to a more expensive model.

Alongside charging improvements, reports from South Korea have also reiterated the Galaxy S26 launch timeline. Samsung is said to be planning its Galaxy Unpacked event for February 25, 2026. However, unlike some previous years, the devices reportedly won’t go on sale immediately. Instead, the Galaxy S26 lineup is expected to hit store shelves on March 11, 2026.
