Samsung has officially unveiled the Galaxy S25 FE at IFA in Berlin, introducing a slimmer design, a bigger battery, and an updated set of features. The phone closely resembles its predecessor, the S24 FE, but offers meaningful upgrades that make it a stronger value option in the Galaxy S lineup.
Hardware and Performance
The Galaxy S25 FE is powered by the 4nm Exynos 2400 chipset, paired with 8 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of internal storage. Samsung has also improved the thermal system, equipping the device with a vapor chamber that is 10% larger than last year’s model for better heat management during heavy use.
Display and Design
On the front, the device features a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X LTPS panel with a Full HD+ resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. Samsung claims a peak brightness of 1,900 nits, ensuring strong outdoor visibility. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ and houses an in-display fingerprint scanner.
In terms of build, the Galaxy S25 FE has a 7.4 mm slim body, weighs just 190 grams, and carries an IP68 certification for water and dust resistance. The chassis is made from armor aluminum, which Samsung says is tougher than before. Both the front and back panels use Gorilla Glass for added durability.
Camera System
Samsung has kept the tried-and-tested triple camera setup from the S24 FE. It includes:
- 50 MP primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture and optical image stabilization.
- 12 MP ultrawide camera with a 123-degree field of view.
- 8 MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and OIS.
At the front, there’s an upgraded 12 MP selfie camera, supported by Samsung’s ProVisual Engine, which uses AI to enhance portraits, low-light performance, and video calls.
Battery and Charging
The Galaxy S25 FE comes with a 4,900 mAh battery, slightly larger than its predecessor. Charging is faster too, with support for 45W wired charging, as well as 15W wireless charging and reverse wireless charging.
Software and AI Features
Out of the box, the device runs Android 16 with One UI 8. Samsung promises seven years of OS upgrades and security patches, aligning the FE model with its flagship counterparts in terms of long-term support.
As expected, Galaxy AI is deeply integrated. The S25 FE includes features such as:
- Gemini Live for real-time assistance.
- Circle to Search for instant visual lookups.
- Generative Edit and Portrait Studio for creative photo editing.
- Audio Eraser to remove unwanted background noise.
- Instant Slow-Mo for adding dramatic effects to videos.
- Now Bar for smart suggestions and navigation.
Connectivity and Extras
Connectivity options include Bluetooth 5.4, Wi-Fi 6E, NFC, and USB-C. While the S25 and S25+ support Wi-Fi 7, Samsung has reserved that for the higher models. Still, Wi-Fi 6E ensures fast and reliable performance for most users.
Colors, Pricing, and Availability
Samsung is offering the Galaxy S25 FE in four colorways: Icyblue, Jetblack, Navy, and White. The pricing in Europe starts at:
- €749 ($875) for the 8 GB / 128 GB model.
- €809 ($945) for the 8 GB / 256 GB model.
- €929 ($1,084) for the 8 GB / 512 GB model.
The phone is now available to order in select markets, with global rollouts to follow in the coming weeks.
