Bro, whether you believe it or not, I’m honestly like a real brother to you guys, because I always bring things that I feel will be genuinely helpful for you.
So look, right now the OnePlus 15 is a smartphone that has recently launched, and these Chinese manufacturers have gone completely extreme with pricing launching phones for $900 and above.
But there is one phone that may be old now but is still in the market, a phone that has created a legacy the Samsung S24 Ultra.
So the big question:
If your budget is around $900, should you buy the OnePlus 15 or the Samsung S24 Ultra?
Even if you didn’t have this question before, Read this, because it’s going to be very interesting. Today we’re going deep into the comparison and checking which one makes more sense around $900.
Right now, the S24 Ultra is available on Amazon for around $600, sometimes even cheaper if you manage to get a discount. And the OnePlus 15 is priced at $900. So there’s almost a $300 difference here. But the S24 Ultra can get even cheaper if you apply the right deals.
So let’s start.
DESIGN COMPARISON
Whenever people compare phones, they usually start with design.
Both phones have completely different designs. Some of you may like the OnePlus 15 design, and some may prefer the S24 Ultra.

Talking about actual materials:
The OnePlus 15 has a glass back with Corning Gorilla Glass 7i and an aluminum alloy frame with micro-arc oxidation, which gives a slightly burnt texture on this specific color variant. The OnePlus logo sits in the middle, and the camera module is large and unique, kind of carried over from the OnePlus 13 series.
On the Samsung side, the company continues its iconic minimalistic design. You get a Gorilla Armor glass back and a titanium frame. Brands have been telling us titanium is stronger than aluminum, and here we have Grade 2 titanium.

I’ve used this phone for a year now, and honestly, it’s extremely sturdy. Even if it falls, nothing really happens. It doesn’t even dent easily.
Compared to this, the OnePlus 15 feels a bit lighter and less dense.
Talking about weight:
Samsung – 232g
OnePlus – 211g
So OnePlus is lighter.

Samsung is also slightly thicker at 8.6mm, while OnePlus is 8.1mm.
Samsung also feels a bit wider and slightly taller than the OnePlus 15. You will understand later why the dimensions differ.
On both phones, the right side has the power and volume buttons.
Samsung keeps the left side empty, while OnePlus gives you the “Alert Slider” which you can customize for vibrate, flashlight, opening the camera, etc like. A small advantage for OnePlus.
IP RATING & EXTRA FEATURES
Samsung gives IP68 1.5m water for 30 minutes.
OnePlus gives both IP68 and IP69K meaning it can even handle high-pressure water jets and survive up to 2 meters underwater for 30 minutes.
So the OnePlus is slightly better in water protection.
Samsung’s biggest extra feature?
The S-Pen.
This S-Pen supports Bluetooth, air gestures, remote photo capture, and much more. Using an S-Pen gives a very premium feel, and honestly, if you’ve never used it before, try it once it feels amazing.
At the bottom, both phones have Type-C ports, SIM trays, and speaker grills.
Samsung’s speaker position can get blocked while gaming horizontally, but OnePlus’ placement reduces that issue.
DISPLAY COMPARISON
I expected OnePlus to beat Samsung in the display department but that didn’t fully happen.

OnePlus:
- 6.78-inch LTPO AMOLED
- 10-bit, 1B colors
- 165Hz refresh rate

Samsung:
- 6.8-inch Dynamic LTPO AMOLED 2X
- 120Hz
- HDR10+
- QHD+ (2K)
Samsung gives a sharper display because of 2K resolution.
Screen-to-body ratio is higher on OnePlus (90%) vs Samsung (88%).
So Samsung has slightly thicker bezels.
Brightness:
Samsung – 1500 nits (HBM)
OnePlus – 1800 nits (HBM)

In real sunlight, both were easily visible.
But Samsung has an additional anti-reflective coating, which genuinely helps outdoors.
For content watching on YouTube/Netflix, both are excellent, with Samsung looking just a bit brighter and better calibrated side-by-side.
Front protection:
Samsung – Gorilla Glass Armor R1
OnePlus – Gorilla Glass 52
Both in-display fingerprint sensors are ultrasonic and both work even with wet fingers.
Speakers:
Both are stereo, but the OnePlus’ speakers sound richer and slightly better.
PERFORMANCE
This is the biggest point.

OnePlus comes with the world’s first Snapdragon 8 Elite (Zen 5) launching Global for the first time in this phone.
It scores around 3.7 to 4 million on AnTuTu.
You get UFS 4.1 storage + LPDDR5X RAM.
Samsung has Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, UFS 4.0 storage, LPDDR5X RAM.
Its score is around 2.3 million.
In daily usage, both phones perform equally well WhatsApp, Facebook, normal apps run smoothly on both.
Gaming:
Both run PUBG at 120 FPS, but the OnePlus’ 165Hz display can interpolate and even run some games natively at 165 FPS.
In real video rendering (4K export test), OnePlus was faster, though Samsung wasn’t far behind.
Both Samsung variants come with 12GB RAM.
OnePlus offers a 16GB RAM option too.
SOFTWARE

OnePlus: OxygenOS on Android 16
Samsung: One UI on Android 16
Software support:
Samsung – 7 years major + 7 years security updates
OnePlus – 4 years major + 2 extra years security (total 6 years)
So Samsung wins in software longevity.
One UI feels slightly more stable, richer, and more polished. Good Lock adds insane customization. Samsung Pay, Samsung Wallet, Knox security, Secure Folder all are big advantages.
OxygenOS is good too, clean and smooth, but overall One UI has more features and better refinement.
CAMERA
Cameras matter a lot at $900.

OnePlus 15:
- 50MP main
- 50MP telephoto
- 50MP ultrawide
(But the “periscope” claim is not true; there’s no real periscope mechanism.)

Samsung S24 Ultra:
- 200MP main
- 10MP telephoto
- 50MP periscope
- 12MP ultrawide
Samsung has one extra lens and a real periscope zoom.
In actual photos:
Samsung produced better color tones, better skin tones, and better overall dynamic range.
OnePlus photos looked slightly washed out or whitish, a common issue with Chinese phones.
In low light too, Samsung images were clearly better.
Conclusion
In short, both phones have strong points.
OnePlus 15 offers unbeatable raw performance, smoother high-refresh visuals, faster charging, lighter weight, and better speakers.
Samsung S24 Ultra, on the other hand, delivers a more premium build, stronger cameras, longer software support, the S Pen experience, better durability, and a more stable overall user experience. If you want pure performance and gaming power, go for OnePlus 15.
But if you want a long-lasting, more reliable, feature-rich flagship experience with better cameras, Samsung S24 Ultra still stands strong even today.
