Redmi Turbo 5 Max teased with massive 9,000mAh battery

Redmi Turbo 5 Max

Xiaomi’s Redmi brand is gearing up to launch the Redmi Turbo 5 Max in China, positioning it as a performance-focused phone with a strong emphasis on battery life. Official teasers and leaks confirm that the device will feature an enormous 9,000mAh battery, making it one of the largest batteries ever seen in a mainstream smartphone.

The Turbo 5 Max is expected to be powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500s chipset, a new high-end SoC that has already appeared in early benchmarks with flagship-level scores. The phone is tipped to run Android 16 out of the box and could offer configurations with up to 16GB of RAM, targeting heavy users and mobile gamers.

On the front, the device is rumored to sport a flat 1.5K OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, slim bezels, and a centered punch-hole camera. Design teasers suggest a CNC metal frame paired with a fiberglass back, along with a dual-camera setup led by a 50MP primary sensor.

Despite the massive battery, Redmi is also expected to include 100W fast wired charging, ensuring quick top-ups even with the large cell. Pricing in China is tipped to start around CNY 2,500, placing it firmly in the upper mid-range segment.

The Redmi Turbo 5 Max is likely to remain China-exclusive, but global markets may see the device rebranded under the POCO lineup later this year.
