Realme Neo8 Debuts with Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, 8,000 mAh Battery

Realme Neo8 Debuts

Realme has officially launched the Realme Neo8 in China, bringing a compelling mix of flagship-grade performance, massive battery life, and rugged durability at an aggressive price point. The new Neo series flagship is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage, ensuring smooth performance for demanding apps and gaming.

The Neo8 sports a 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 165 Hz refresh rate and ultra-high peak brightness of up to 6,500 nits, backed by Crystal Armor glass for enhanced protection.

One of the standout specs is the 8,000 mAh battery, one of the largest in the flagship segment, with 80 W SuperVOOC fast charging and bypass charging support for uninterrupted play and daily use. Realme says the device also features IP66/68/69 ingress protection, making it resilient to dust, water immersion, and high-pressure water jets, an unusually robust rating for a premium smartphone.

Photography includes a triple rear camera setup led by a 50 MP Sony IMX896 main sensor with OIS, paired with a 50 MP periscope telephoto lens and an 8 MP ultra-wide camera, while a 16 MP front camera handles selfies and video calls. The phone runs Android 16 with Realme UI 7.0 and includes features such as an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor, stereo speakers, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, and dual-SIM 5G support.

The Realme Neo8 went on sale immediately in China with pricing starting from around CNY 2,599 (~$370) for the base variant, with higher RAM and storage configurations available up to CNY 3,899 (~$560). While global availability and launch timing have yet to be confirmed, some reports suggest it could be rebranded for international markets.
