Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X series has already made waves in the laptop world, and the latest Snapdragon X2 chips, unveiled in September, are set to appear in Windows laptops by spring 2026.
But it looks like Windows won’t be the only platform getting them. According to recent leaks, Qualcomm is now working on Android support for its Snapdragon X chips hinting that Android-powered laptops could be on the way.
The timing couldn’t be better. With Google reportedly merging ChromeOS and Android, Qualcomm’s move fits perfectly into the company’s long-term vision. A standardized Android build for laptops could finally breathe new life into a category that’s been quiet for years.
Snapdragon X chips have already shown impressive performance and efficiency in Windows devices, but bringing Android into the mix could completely change the game. If Google nails the interface and user experience, we might soon see the rise of powerful, AI-driven Android laptops and that’s something worth getting excited about.
