In a shocking turn of events, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold exploded during a durability test conducted by popular YouTuber JerryRigEverything. The device, which Google claimed to be its most durable foldable yet, failed catastrophically along the same weak antenna line that plagued its previous generations.
The test revealed that Google once again placed fragile antenna lines near the hinge, a design flaw seen in both the original Pixel Fold and last year’s Pixel 9 Pro Fold. When pressure was applied, the phone snapped at that exact spot, damaging the internal battery and causing it to ignite.

This marks the first time in JerryRigEverything’s decade-long testing history that a smartphone has caught fire during a durability review. The incident raises serious concerns about Google’s structural design choices and the accuracy of its “extremely durable” marketing claims.
While the Pixel 10 Pro Fold features an IP68 rating and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection, the hinge’s dust resistance failed under testing, and the folding screen remains vulnerable to scratches.
For now, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold explosion stands as a stark reminder that even premium devices can have critical weaknesses especially when old design flaws go unfixed.
