The Oppo find x9 has officially landed in the Global Market.. With the new MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset, updated ColorOS 16, and Hasselblad-tuned cameras, there’s a lot of excitement around this device. After spending time with it, here’s a complete look at what users can expect.
Design and Build Quality
The design keeps the familiar compact feel from last year’s model. It’s slim at around 8 mm and weighs about 200 grams, making it easy to handle or slip into pockets. The aluminum frame and matte glass back give it a sturdy, premium feel.
However, there’s a noticeable change in the camera layout. The previous generation used a watch-like camera module centered at the back. Now, the phone features a square, slightly raised module that looks closer to the Reno line. The Hasselblad branding on the flash is still there, but far more subtle. It feels like Oppo wanted a cleaner, toned-down look this time.
The front carries a flat display with very thin bezels. Oppo didn’t specify the glass protection used, but the panel looks and feels refined. On the right side, you get the power button and volume rocker, while the left houses a customizable Snap Key. You can assign different shortcuts such as DND mode, camera launch, or workspace tools.
At the bottom sits the USB-C port, dual microphones, and one loudspeaker. The top houses an IR blaster, and the earpiece doubles as the second speaker. One standout detail is the triple ingress protection rating of IP66, IP68, and IP69. This means better protection from water, dust, and even pressure jets, giving users more confidence in day-to-day use.
Overall, the design keeps the strong points from the previous model while adopting a slightly more muted identity.
Display and Multimedia
The phone uses a 6.59-inch Pro XDR OLED display. It supports up to 1.5K resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision. Peak brightness reaches 3,600 nits, which is very bright for outdoor use. The only drawback is the absence of an LTPO panel, which would’ve helped with adaptive refresh rate efficiency.
Color reproduction is rich, blacks are deep, and the display feels smooth when scrolling or switching apps. Watching videos on this screen is a treat. Whether it’s anime, movies, or YouTube content, the colors look clean and the viewing experience feels cinematic.
The stereo speakers have clear mids and decent bass, though the loudness is still not as strong as expected for a flagship. It’s not bad at all, but it could have been better.
Biometrics include an in-display ultrasonic fingerprint scanner and face unlock. Both work quickly and set up in under two minutes.
Camera Performance
The phone carries a triple 50MP camera setup at the back and a 32MP shooter up front. The main and telephoto cameras include OIS, and video recording goes up to 4K at 120fps on the rear. The front camera maxes out at 4K 60fps.
In good lighting, the results are impressive. Subject separation is clean, colors are lively, and images stay natural even before editing. Low-light performance also holds up well, with photos retaining much of what the eye sees. There’s some processing happening behind the scenes, but it manages to keep things balanced.
The ultrawide camera still struggles with detail when zoomed in, similar to last year’s model. It’s not noticeable unless you inspect closely, but it’s something power users may notice.
Video quality is smooth with fast autofocus in bright environments. At night, some grain shows up, but the footage stays usable. Both rear and front cameras deliver stable output.
Performance and Benchmarks
Under the hood, the device runs on the 3nm MediaTek Dimensity 9500 paired with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage. The chip can reach clock speeds of up to 4.21GHz, making it a major upgrade over its predecessor. There’s also the ARM G1 Ultra GPU, Oppo’s Trinity engine for optimized performance, and MediaTek’s NPU 9990 for AI tasks.
The heating issues from the previous Find X generation seem to be addressed. Even during an hour of Genshin Impact on max settings, the phone only reached mild warmth without uncomfortable heat. Gameplay stayed smooth, and frame drops were rare.
These improvements suggest a more efficient cooling system, better GPU tuning, and stronger thermal management overall.
Software Experience
ColorOS 16 on top of Android 16 feels fluid, polished, and responsive. Animations glide naturally, and app transitions are snappy. Oppo also added its own version of a “dynamic island”-style pop-up, which looks more refined.
A standout addition is Mind Space, a productivity feature that collects information from screenshots or voice notes and organizes them into summaries or folders. It’s useful for users who juggle notes, reminders, or random files.
Bloatware is minimal, limited mostly to popular apps like Facebook, Instagram, Netflix, and Spotify. At the time of writing, Oppo has not yet confirmed the update policy for this device.
Battery Life and Charging
One of the most surprising parts of this phone is the massive 7,025mAh battery despite the slim body. It supports 80W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, and 10W reverse wireless charging.
In daily browsing, social media, streaming, and occasional gaming the battery barely dropped throughout the day. On PCMark’s Work 3.0 test, it recorded 22 hours and 8 minutes of uptime, which is an excellent score. The Trinity engine seems to help significantly with power efficiency.
Connectivity options include 5G, Wi-Fi 7, dual nano SIM with eSIM support, Bluetooth 6, GPS, and an IR blaster.
Verdict (Oppo Find X9)
The oppo find x9 checks most of the right boxes. It brings solid upgrades, especially in performance and battery life, while keeping the premium feel of the previous model. The only minor downsides are its redesigned camera module, which may divide opinions, and the speaker loudness, which still needs improvement.
Its display and camera system remain strong, and the overall experience feels consistent, polished, and reliable for a flagship phone. Pricing is not yet official, but considering the previous model launched at $ 1,070, we can expect a similar range.
For users looking for a device with long battery life, a clean design, and dependable performance, this flagship is definitely worth considering.
