OnePlus has officially confirmed the Turbo 6 series launch, marking the debut of its new Turbo smartphone lineup with two distinct models, the OnePlus Turbo 6 and Turbo 6V set to unveil in China on January 8, 2026. The series is positioned at the intersection of performance and endurance phones and may later roll out globally or under alternate names like the Nord 6 in regions such as India.
OnePlus has already teased several key features ahead of the launch, with battery life and smooth display performance being focal points. The Turbo 6 is confirmed to pack a massive 9,000 mAh battery, the largest ever in a OnePlus phone to date supported by 80 W wired fast charging and 27 W reverse wired charging, promising multi-day endurance especially for heavy usage and gaming.
Under the hood, the OnePlus Turbo 6 is expected to run on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, paired with LPDDR5X RAM and fast UFS 4.1 storage, delivering flagship-level performance for gaming and multitasking. It will feature a 6.78-inch 1.5K OLED display with a 165 Hz refresh rate, making it ideal for smooth visuals and responsive interactions.
Optics for the Turbo series are shaping up solidly too, with a 50 MP primary camera and an 8 MP ultra-wide sensor on the rear, and a 32 MP selfie shooter up front balanced hardware for everyday photography. Both models are expected to launch with Android 16 based on ColorOS 16 out of the box.
The Turbo 6V variant will offer a slightly different experience, reportedly powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset and featuring a 144 Hz 1.5K OLED display, while retaining the 9,000 mAh battery and similar camera setup, making it a compelling choice for power users on a tighter budget.
Design teasers have highlighted premium touches such as multiple colour options including Chasing Light Silver, Wilderness Green and Lone Black for the Turbo 6, and Fearless Blue, Nova White and Alone Black for the Turbo 6V along with IP68/IP69/IP69K dust and water resistance, a rare spec set at this battery and performance tier.
While the initial launch is confirmed for China on January 8, 2026, OnePlus has not yet shared detailed global rollout plans or pricing. However, industry observers believe the Turbo 6 series could expand into markets like India and Europe later in 2026, possibly under different branding similar to how OnePlus has rebranded China-exclusive models for broader audiences in the past.
