OnePlus has officially confirmed several key specs of its upcoming OnePlus 15R, and revealed that the 15R will ship with a 7,400mAh battery, the largest ever used in a globally sold OnePlus device. The cell uses silicon-enhanced Nanostack technology, promising higher energy density and improved longevity retaining up to 80% capacity even after four years of use. Charging stays at 80W SuperVOOC, which should still be quick considering the massive battery size.
Powering the phone is the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, making the 15R one of the first performance-tier devices to adopt Qualcomm’s latest flagship chipset. This ensures a notable jump in CPU, GPU, and on-device AI performance.
On the front, the OnePlus 15R is expected to feature a 165Hz 1.5K AMOLED display with up to 1800 nits peak brightness aimed at smooth gaming and excellent outdoor visibility. Video recording has also been upgraded, with 4K at 120fps now officially confirmed.
The phone will launch with OxygenOS 16 based on Android 16, continuing OnePlus’ streamlined software approach. The global launch is set for December 17, where pricing and full specifications will be revealed.
