Fresh leaks have surfaced about the upcoming OnePlus 15, hinting at notable hardware changes in its camera system. According to reports, the phone will feature a 1/1.5-inch Sony Lytia LYT-700 sensor for its main camera. The periscope telephoto lens is said to use a 1/2.76-inch Samsung ISOCELL JN5 sensor, while the ultrawide camera may also carry a 50 MP Samsung ISOCELL JN5 sensor.
If accurate, these specifications mark a step down in sensor size compared to the OnePlus 13, which had a larger 1/1.43-inch main sensor and a 1/1.95-inch periscope camera. The changes suggest OnePlus could be shifting focus toward software optimization and image processing rather than raw hardware power.
Adding to the list of possible downgrades, the OnePlus 15 is rumored to feature a 1.5K resolution display, lower than the QHD+ panel on its predecessor. While smaller sensors and a lower display resolution may help improve battery efficiency and thermal control, enthusiasts might see these moves as cost-cutting in a premium flagship lineup.
More details about the OnePlus 15’s camera tuning, processing engine, and official specifications are expected to surface closer to its launch in October 2025.
