OnePlus 13 Receives OxygenOS 16 Update

OnePlus has begun rolling out the stable OxygenOS 16 update to the OnePlus 13, delivering a major software upgrade based on Android 16 that brings a refreshed UI, enhanced performance and new AI-powered tools to the flagship smartphone.

The update is hitting units in staged waves across regions, with the first builds reported in India followed by wider availability in markets such as Europe and the U.S. Users can check for the update via Settings → System → Software update once it arrives in their region.

OxygenOS 16 on the OnePlus 13 introduces a significantly redesigned interface, featuring smoother animations, refined system visuals and a more modern layout throughout menus, notifications and widgets. Under the hood, the Trinity Engine optimises system performance by balancing CPU, GPU and memory usage, resulting in snappier responses and more fluid interactions.

One of the headline additions is a suite of AI-driven features. The update brings tools like Plus Mind Space for organising content, improved AI portrait and video enhancements, smarter AI Recorder and Translator functions, and an expanded assistant experience that helps with search and task support directly within the system.

Home screen customisation has also been overhauled, with new icon and folder layouts, enhanced widgets (including stackable widgets), a redesigned app drawer with categories and search, and more intuitive editing controls. Multitasking gets a boost too, with expanded split-screen support, better floating window control and smoother workflow transitions for productivity.

Camera and media apps see useful upgrades as well: native video editing tools like clip splitting, merging, transitions and background music are now built into the Gallery, while camera software gains AI Portrait Glow and motion-photo enhancements for more creative capture options.

Security and connectivity features are also part of the package, with expanded privacy options, app-level locking, improved threat alerts and OnePlus Connect enhancements for seamless pairing with PCs and other devices.
