Nothing Phone 4a Price Likely To Rise Due To RAM Cost Surge

Nothing Phone 4a

Nothing CEO Carl Pei has warned that the upcoming Nothing Phone (4a) may launch with a higher price tag than expected, as a result of a “3× surge in RAM prices” driven by the ongoing AI hardware boom. Pei stated the increase in component costs, particularly memory, is placing pressure on Nothing’s usual value-focused pricing strategy, and the company may need to reflect that in the Phone (4a)’s retail price when it arrives later this quarter.

According to Pei, the spike in DRAM costs is one of the key factors behind the potential price adjustment, which could impact how competitive the Phone (4a) looks against other mid-range and upper mid-range rivals at launch. While Nothing has not confirmed exact pricing figures yet, this marks a shift from the brand’s earlier messaging of aggressive pricing, and highlights broader industry issues as AI workloads push demand for more and faster memory.
