Meta Ray-Ban Smart Glasses

Meta has officially launched its Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses in India, marking the first time the AI-powered wearable enters the country’s market. The glasses are available in Wayfarer and Skyler frame styles, with prices starting at ₹29,900 and going up to ₹35,700 depending on finish and lens options. Retail availability begins this week through Ray-Ban outlets, with wider rollout on Amazon, Flipkart, and Reliance Digital from November 21.

The glasses feature a 12MP ultra-wide camera capable of capturing 1080p video clips and support live streaming directly to Facebook and Instagram. A five-mic array and open-ear speakers handle audio playback and calls, while a Snapdragon AR1 Gen1 chipset powers on-device processing. Battery life is rated at around 4 hours of active use, supplemented by a charging case.

Meta AI is integrated system-wide with the “Hey Meta” hotword, enabling object recognition, hands-free queries, and live translation across multiple languages. Users can also access music, take calls, and manage notifications using voice alone. An LED recording indicator and IPX4 water resistance round out the hardware package.

India-specific features including Hindi language support, UPI payments, and even a localized AI voice are expected to roll out gradually. With a blend of classic Ray-Ban styling and enhanced AI capabilities, the new smart glasses aim to push wearable tech deeper into the mainstream.
