MediaTek Launches Dimensity 8450 5G Chip in India with Advanced AI & Flagship Features

MediaTek Dimensity 8450

June 23, 2025 New Delhi: MediaTek has officially launched its Dimensity 8450 5G chipset in India, just days after its global reveal on June 20. Built on the 4nm TSMC process, the new chipset is designed to power premium Android smartphones and brings major improvements in performance, AI processing, gaming, and multimedia capabilities.

The announcement was made during a special event in Delhi, where MediaTek showcased the chipset alongside leading smartphone brands like Oppo, Vivo, iQOO, and Motorola. The Dimensity 8450 is expected to appear in flagship phones starting with the Oppo Reno 14 Pro, followed by upcoming K-series models and other premium Android devices in the second half of 2025.

Powerful Core Design with AI at the Center

The Dimensity 8450 features an all-big-core CPU design, including one Arm Cortex-X4 ultra-core clocked at up to 3.4GHz, backed by the Mali-G720 MC7 GPU. This setup promises powerful performance across apps, games, and multitasking.

But the real highlight is MediaTek’s new NPU 880 and Agentic AI Engine — giving phones faster and smarter on-device AI processing. These tools will power advanced AI tasks like real-time photo enhancements, live translations, summarization, and even personal AI assistants on supported devices.

Upgrades in Camera, Gaming & Multimedia

The Dimensity 8450 supports advanced camera features like multi-frame HDR, 4K60 video with dual Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS), and real-time noise reduction — ideal for night photography and video clarity.

Gamers will benefit from HyperEngine 8.0, MediaTek’s gaming optimization suite. It includes AI frame rate prediction, faster touch response, and improved thermal management — making high-end games smoother and more immersive.

The chipset also supports WQHD+ displays at 120Hz, LPDDR5X RAM, UFS 4.0 storage, and 5G-Advanced (5G-A) for ultra-fast network speeds with reduced latency.

First Phones Coming Soon

MediaTek confirmed that the Oppo Reno 14 Pro will be one of the first phones powered by Dimensity 8450. Other phones from Motorola and Vivo are expected to launch shortly after, with more brands adopting the chip in late 2025.

Final Thoughts

With the launch of the Dimensity 8450, MediaTek is doubling down on its push into the premium smartphone market. The chip offers next-gen AI, flagship performance, and cutting-edge connectivity, making it a serious challenger to Qualcomm’s high-end offerings.
