Apple fans it looks like the wait is almost over. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple plans to launch the iOS 26 public beta on or around Wednesday, July 23, 2025.
While Apple had previously said the public beta would arrive sometime in July, Gurman’s report gives us the clearest timeline yet. And it’s not just iOS 26 that’s coming a whole wave of Apple software is gearing up for public testing next week.
Which Public Betas Are Coming?
Alongside iOS 26, Apple is preparing to release public betas for:
- iPadOS 26
- macOS 26 (also known as macOS Tahoe)
- watchOS 26
- tvOS 26
- HomePod Software 26
- New AirPods firmware
That’s a huge rollout across nearly the entire Apple ecosystem giving users early access to Apple’s newest features, improvements, and design changes.
However, Apple has officially confirmed that visionOS 26 will not get a public beta, at least not at this stage. So if you were hoping to test the next version of Vision Pro software, you’ll have to wait until the final release.
What Did Mark Gurman Say?
In his weekly Power On newsletter, Mark Gurman, a well-respected Apple journalist at Bloomberg, mentioned that the public beta wave is expected to arrive “on or around July 23.” While not an official Apple announcement, Gurman has a strong track record when it comes to Apple leaks and timelines so this gives us a good idea of what to expect.
