According to leaks from Digital Chat Station, the Huawei Pura 90 Ultra is tipped to feature a 1-inch retractable (periscope) lens, one of the most advanced camera systems leaked so far for a flagship phone in 2026.
This retractable lens is expected to physically extend and provide true optical focal length switching between 24mm, 35mm, and 50mm without relying on digital cropping or crop sensors meaning optical zoom quality at multiple prime focal lengths.
The mechanism would allow the phone to shift optics much like a compact camera, offering versatile framing and significant image quality benefits through pure optical adjustments rather than interpolation.
Combined with Huawei’s strong imaging history and other sensors typically seen in Ultra models (e.g., large main sensor, ultra-wide module), this could position the Pura 90 Ultra as a camera monster in the premium segment.
