Google Pixel 10a Tipped For Early Launch With 120Hz Display

Google may be changing its midrange launch strategy. New renders and supply chain reports surfacing today suggest that the Pixel 10a could arrive much earlier than usual, with a launch window now tipped for late February or early March. This would mark a major shift away from Google’s traditional May debut during its annual I/O developer conference.

According to the leak, the Pixel 10a will feature a 6.2-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate, bringing smoother visuals to Google’s affordable lineup, a spec previously reserved for its flagship models. This would make the 10a more competitive in the crowded upper-midrange segment.

Powering the device is said to be Google’s Tensor G5 chip, albeit in a slightly underclocked version to balance performance, thermals, and cost. This approach mirrors Google’s strategy with previous “a” series models, delivering near-flagship performance at a lower price point.

Pricing is expected to be aggressive, with the Pixel 10a positioned directly against rivals like the Samsung Galaxy S25 FE. If the early launch timeline proves accurate, Google could gain a strategic advantage by hitting the market months ahead of its usual schedule.
