Google has announced an Extended Repair Program for the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL following reports of display issues affecting some units. The program also extends to the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, with separate coverage terms.
Display Issues Covered
Affected devices may experience a vertical line on the screen or flickering displays. Google confirmed the issues after internal review and user reports. Eligible devices will receive free screen replacements, with the coverage extending up to three years from the original purchase date.
Eligibility and Conditions
Not all devices automatically qualify. Phones showing physical damage such as cracks, chips, or liquid damage may be excluded. Repairs can be carried out at authorized service centers or via Google’s official repair portal. Repaired devices are covered by a 90-day warranty on the replaced parts.
Pixel 9 Pro Fold Coverage
The foldable variant is included under a separate extended warranty program, with affected units potentially receiving full device replacements instead of just screen repairs. Eligibility is confirmed after inspection.
How to Proceed
The program is already live, and users are advised to back up their data and enable Repair Mode before submitting a device for service.
Google’s initiative provides longer coverage and reassurance for Pixel users experiencing display issues, highlighting the company’s commitment to support and device longevity.
